Planning and Development

Planning and Development

The Planning and Development Division is accessed via the Customer Centre located on the ground floor of the Town Hall. It is staffed at all times and the Council offices are open to the public.

There is no direct access to the 1st floor where Planning staff are located except for pre-arranged meetings.

To help us provide a better service to Customers it would be helpful if 24 hours notice could be given, where possible, to view decided planning applications.

For general matters please email planning@macclesfield.gov.uk, use the online form, or explore the Planning pages on our website. General phone queries on 01625 500500 or fax 01625 504675. You can also view contact details and the latest information for Development Control.

The Council decides planning applications based on national, regional and Cheshire Structure Plan policy, its own policies set out in the Local Plan and supplementary planning guidance and documents; and other material considerations.

Please note: Once we make a planning decision, the decision notice and plans are available through our searchable register of applications. We no longer send out paper copies of plans.
