Consultation and Research To register your interest in current or future consultation topics, please follow this link.
Each year, Macclesfield Borough Council undertakes (or co-ordinates with its partners) a wide range of consultations and research projects. We do this in order to find out what you think about services and the borough as a whole, and to identify the issues that are important to you, both now and in the future. Recent research documents include Local Futures "State of the Borough" report and scorecard which gives an overview of Macclesfield Borough. In this section of the website, you will find details of recent, current and forthcoming consultation / research undertaken by MBC and its partners. There is also a section on the Macclesfield Citizens’ Panel, which comprises just over 1,200 residents of Macclesfield Borough, its purpose being to allow a representative sample group of local people to complete 3-4 surveys a year. Panel members’ responses allow us to build a picture of what local people think about our services and enable us to plan for the future. Local Area Agreements are agreements between central government, local authorities and their partners to form a single straightforward vision for improving services. Where there is more than one tier of local government (e.g. District and County councils) there will be one agreement which spans all councils in the area. Macclesfield Borough Council is therefore contributing to the one agreement for Cheshire. A brief guide is available by following this link. The Borough Council is part of the Cheshire Information Liaison Group which advises the Communities of Cheshire Partnership on research matters.
