Prestbury Village Design Statement

Village Design Statements are seen as a way of helping village communities to achieve a sense of their own distinctiveness, to appreciate their landscape setting and to manage change better.

This Village Design Statement has been adopted as a Supplementary Planning Document which enables the document to be a material consideration in dealing with planning applications, and providing additional guidance to builders, developers, architects, statutory authorities and the local community itself.

This statement describes the character of the landscape, the settlement and the built environment that makes up the village of Prestbury. A series of recommendations are highlighted to provide both general and more specific guidance that will enable the local character and distinctiveness of the village to be maintained and enhanced where appropriate.
